OK, so I've not posted in forever & I really don't feel like airing my life on here any more so if you want to know what's happening with me you'll just have to talk to me :p

However... I'm coming to the end of watching Battlestar Galactica, which has entertained me solidly for the last month or so & I'm in need of something else to watch so I'm looking for your recommendations. Here are some things I've watched & enjoyed:

Black Books
Carnivale
Dead Like Me
Deadwood
Desperate Housewives
Dexter
Dirty Sexy Money
Farscape
Firefly
Futurama
Heroes

Nip/Tuck
Numb3rs
Peep Show
Point Pleasant
Prison Break
Red Dwarf
Six Feet Under
Spaced
Spooks
Surface
The 4400

Well it's taken a hell of a long time & a lot of hard work & a whole heap of emotional shit but I'm getting into a damn fine place in my life.

I finally feel like I'm at a point in life where it's 90% sorted & the rest will fall into place when it's ready, but I'm in no hurry, things are good, it's time to sit back & enjoy myself a bit :D

Work was REALLY tough at first, the shear shock to my system of being back out surrounded by people all day, their ambitions, tensions & emotions felt like they were drowning me out & I got so very anxious & lost in it since I didn't know them at all so had no idea what was driving it at all.

Now I'm getting to know people & becoming more confident in the work I'm doing & you know what, I really really enjoy the work. Working on adult sites is really good fun (least it is when I do it) I delight in putting humour, cheekiness & sexiness into my designs. I dance around the office when no-one's looking (sometimes they catch me at it & I just give them a huge cheesy grin) & see what tongue in cheek fun I can get past my boss & the MD & get to live sites.

I feel more independant, stronger & healthier than I have in years. I finally have money again, I can actually buy myself things without a huge feeling of worry about how much longer my savings will last.

I still have some work to do, my self confidence has suffered a hell of a lot over the time I've been fixing stuff, so I have to rebuild that now that I have the framework to support it, but that will happen, I know it will.

I have a beautiful, amazing boy by my side who gets better & better, we will have been together a year in a month & half and it seems like it's flown by & we've been together for years, both at the same time.

My final thing to sort out is a more permanent place to live, I'm contemplating all sorts of options at the moment as it has to be the right decision, there's been so many major changes in my life for years now that I want to settle properly & just enjoy it for a while...

So yeah, stuff is good - how are you?

PS I'm up for fun, frovolity & frolics so let me know if you want to meet up for a giggle :) Yes, Denny, you're on my list, let me know when's good for you, last week was a bit hectic, sorry I didn't get back to you xx

So it went a little something like this...

at the beginning of the month I decided that was it, I really really had to bite the bullet & get a job, far too much stress from freelancing any longer & it was just making me miserable. I was scared, really thought it would take ages & loads of knocks before I would get anywhere.

So Monday came around and in my usual all or nothing approach I spent the whole (short cos of good friday) week applying for jobs, speaking to rec consultants & booking interviews for the next week.

The next week came along & I was in interviews 3 days running with 3 different companies, was so utterly exhausted with the stress of it all that I really didn't want to go to the last one, on thursday, but in the end was very glad I did: he offered me the job there & then, on the spot!

So I'm gonna be working for Virtual Universe designing the front end of their social networking sites, the next couple of which are going to be aimed at the alt & fetish community!!

They've offered me more money than I was hoping for, health insurance, medical insurance & life assurance. It's flexi-time: as long as I'm there 10-4 & make up my hours then I'm all good & the MD seems to have a very positive attitude towards his employees, really wants to make everyone happy to make them more productive :D

There's loads of opportunities to learn from coders and designers alike so lots of chances for progression - it's all really exciting!

I've been putting off posting until I actually had the contracts in my hand, just so I _knew_ everything was going through as planned & they arrived this morning.

I picked a start date of May 1st to allow me a couple of weeks to tie up things with my clients & have a holiday - which I haven't really done properly in the last 4 years while I've been freelancing.

I feel so much happier to have this all sorted, Marc says I'm a completely different person the last few days, so much more chilled & fun instead of the stressy, panic attack-stricken mess I've been lately. Couldn't have done all this without his support & encouragement. Thank you sweetness, as ever you intuitively knew what I needed & provided it without question. I love you so much for this and everything else you are.

Thanks also to all the others who supported me & listened to me wibble; Steve, Viki, Denny & especially Mim who pushed me hard when I needed it to get over myself & get on with life, even though it was difficult to hear at the time it was what I needed.

So, now begins a new chapter in life! I'm looking forward to it :D

I noticed a distinct lack of the usual traffic noise & sirens passing by my window this morning... looked out of the window to see no cars (there's NEVER no cars), police tape & a police woman... hmm, curious.

Checked the BBC... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6370693.stm

ahh, that's my road...

cyb0rfox + indusbitch are rather interested in going out for foods and then to see Hot Fuzz soonish.

We were probably thinking 2nd of March we could all meet early evening, and grab some Sushi (as there is one nearby..) or something else for those that don't like sushi.. After, going on to the Vue cinema, also in Angel. Times aren't confirmed yet, but it will most probably be around 8/9ish.

Would there be much interest in attending from you guys?

(sorry to those of you that read this twice, yes I'm being lazy & couldn't be bothered to type my own message :p)

What a great night :D

Stress & fuss beforehand trying to get everything ready in time & illness & blah blah but it all came together in the end.

Ian from GirlArmour made a brand new breastplate for me to wear for the occassion - named flaming heart, and I made a bustle to go with it (without seeing the breastplate until after I'd finished, but somehow we managed to co-ordinate well :))

First off piccie of the outfit:

Much boogying was done & I got "married" to my beautiful boy as you can see on his journal. Really had a damn fine night, full of bizarre encounters & friends :D

one more pic off dontstayin of me & Marc dancing in the cage:

Happy New Year one & all, hope it brings good things for you.

I started the year with the sweetest kiss & a top tune (pendulum remix of voodoo people) in the middle of Torture Garden - if that's a sign of things to come this year then it's gonna be a fucking amazing year :)

Piccie on cyb0rfox's journal

A lot changed for me in the last year & most of you know I went through some really rough patches & got pretty close to the edge at a few points. But it all needed to be done, I've ended up where I need to be.

Huge thanks to everyone who was there to support me through the bad times, especially Andy, James, Mim, Viki, Ant & Jase I couldn't have done it without you, I love you all.

Steve & I are still good friends & still able to rely on each other for certain things & support each other. We know we did the right thing in splitting up this year & are both happy with new partners. We've managed to retain all the best bits of our relationship while losing what was tearing us apart. Thank you for all your help, it means so much to me that we are still there for each other.

And then a few months back I met Marc (cyb0rfox) & my world got so much sweeter. I'm not much of a one for big public announcements of affection which is why you haven't read much of it here, but I am constantly astounded by his patience, beauty, strength, calmness & how much fun we have together. I'm utterly in love & so grateful to have him in my life. Thank you sweetness, for everything.

Dec. 12th, 2006 @ 09:04 am Product Recall
Now that I'm in my new house with enough storage for all my stuff I'm on a mission to get back things that I have lent to people, these are the ones I can remember:

[info]shiftplusone Nip/tuck, Ultraviolet & Carnivale 2 DVDs

[info]scarynic Millenium series 2 & 3 DVDs

Please guys can you get these back to me as soon as poss?

If anyone else has stuff I've lent them please let me know & return it to me, I lose far too much stuff due to lending things out that never come back to me.

Current Mood: content
Yup, all installed in new flat of warmth :)

HUGE thanks to [info]madjon, [info]noize, [info]the_falconer, [info]gfreak & Mim for their help in getting me moved.

Slight complications this morning as the power went off in half of Hackney http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6205338.stm but thankfully James sent me a text to let me know so I didn't stress for too long that it was a problem with the flat.

Still some organisation & stuff to do before I'm settled but we did pretty well & there's only a couple of boxes left.

So, who's coming to visit then?

OK Peoples, here we go again...

Lots of packing is done, some still to do.

I won't have net access or land line tomorrow (assuming BT do what they said they're gonna do & switch it all over for me tomorrow).

I think everyone who's offered help has my mobile, but if you don't and are willing/able to help please email me this eve on rose@industrialbitch.co.uk & I'll give you my mob number.

If all goes to plan we should start at 8am on Sat, will take quite some time to shift all this though so even if you can't make it for that time but are willing to come along later it would still be much appreciated, just ring me to check where we are.

Catch up with the rest of you on the flip side.

Well that was a pretty successful weekend :)

My practical side: satisfied by a nice cheque from the lovely NCSoft peoples & them deciding that it worked so well having me & Ms Liberty face off against each other that they want me to do 2 more shows before retiring Ghost Widow after all :D

My emotional side: satisfied by the NCSoft crew being as lovely & welcoming & helpful as ever; by meeting up with Darren on Sat night (who I hadn't seen in at least 3 years) for drinks & catching up; & especially happy as Marc came up to Brum to surprise me & after stalking me around the show but not making himself known then waited for me at the station to help me drag my very very weary arse home :D :D :D :D

My geeky side: satisfied by photos with some of the Red Dwarf crew!

Here with Cat (Danny John-Jules) & the lovely Ms Liberty of course.

Coming soon pics with Holly (Norman Lovett) and Holly (Hattie Hayridge)!

Have a CD full of shots from the photo shoot to look at as well so will probably put a set of those up on the website, also expecting lots more fun shots from around the show with the many characters that were there.

So all in all absolutely knackered but very content. Taking today off to recover, though I may do more packing later on, so if anyone's in London & wants to pop over for a natter let me know.
